Cost and energy efficient: Laser deposition welding and laser hardening give your components the properties they need. You also benefit from longer component life. With low unit costs, both processes are among the most economical methods of surface treatment. Discover the possibilities and benefit from our expertise.

Laser deposition welding: layer by layer to the ideal result

Does your component require greater hardness or increased wear protection at certain points? Then RUBIG laser deposition welding, also known as LMD (Laser Metal Deposition), is the solution for you.

LMD is an additive manufacturing process in which material is applied layer by layer. It is flexible and versatile, ideal for repairing and improving components in small to medium quantities. A practical example is the welding of used chuck jaws, which can save customers 30-40 percent compared to a new purchase.

Laser hardening: Targeted hardening with precision

Laser hardening also offers cost savings. Targeted hardening of edges in stamping and bending tools can reduce wear without having to heat the entire component. The advantage over inductive hardening is lower distortion.
